My name is Sue Stade and I teach 2nd grade at EMES! This is my 23rd year of teaching (my 17th year with MCPS.) I am a graduate of Montreat-Anderson College and Western Carolina University, both in North Carolina.
I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and have lived in 6 states and Canada. I was raised in the Panama Canal Zone, surrounded by big ships and 2 oceans. (The Pacific and the Atlantic were are only 50 miles apart!) No small wonder, one of my favorite Units to teach in Second Grade is “Maps and Globes.” J
My husband and I have lived in Blacksburg for 22 years and have one son, three daughters and 3 granddaughters.
I love teaching Second Grade! Seven to eight-year olds are full of wonder and excitement! J Each day “teaches” ME new things! My favorite subject is READING and I try on every level to pass that love on to the children. I especially love ‘Reader’s Theater’ and’ Teacher Read A louds!’ Mainly, I just love listening to my students read and it is a joy to watch them advance!
